VEINS OF THE EARTH

Installation with drawing and video on the wall
200 x 200 cm.

The artwork “VEINS OF THE EARTH” (2021) is an installation in which I propose a dialogue between the projection of an mp4-format video and a graphite drawing I made on fabric. The piece has dimensions of 200 cm x 200 cm x 150 cm. It consists of a video projected in a continuous loop, showing a close-up of the movement and sound of a lit fuse’s spark, next to a large-scale drawing that, like a map of the Earth's veins, represents infinite networks.

As a contemporary artist, I am interested in reflecting on invisible and magnetic energies. I wonder whether these forces could influence the terrestrial environment and climate change. The infrathin (from Duchamp’s perspective), the inexplicable, quantum physics, and the transformation of matter are some of the themes I connect to my work. Through my art, I aim to pose these questions and awaken awareness in viewers. Specifically, I invite them to engage in an in-situ experience.

In recent years, I have worked with various media: drawing, installation, photography, video, painting, and objects, which is why I consider myself a multidisciplinary artist. Light is the overarching concept that connects and structures all the visual languages I work with. I am drawn to investigating how light affects the behavior of the line in space, as possible internal cartographic constructions. Likewise, I explore the enigmatic and invisible connections of macro-universes that manifest within microcosms, which in turn replicate endlessly, one within another.
