ABOUT ME
Carolina’s childhood was surrounded by culture since she grew in a family where art was considered a value. Thus, without even noticing it, she was led by the visual arts towards the path she would take thereafter. She is still moved by her capacity to choose every day how to see and perceive things because, for her, art is life.
She is a visual artist, specialized in painting, graduated from ENBA "Prilidiano Pueyrredón" (1989); she acquired experience and expertise at the art studios of Ary Brizzi, Remo Bianchedi, Matilde Marín and Ricardo Roux, among other.
While she was still studying, she worked at Libero Badií Museum - Fundación BBVA Banco Francés (1998-2011) where she also experimented art from other perspectives, expanding her vision.
She also specialized in Ancient Quattrocento Techniques at ADA - Accademia D’Arte de Firenze (Italy, June/2016).
The art clinic at the Fundación Cazadores (Ameztoy/ Bazán/ Roux/ Zanela, 2017-18), the Proyecto PAC /Seminars (Galería Gachi Prieto, 2019) and the Programa Manglar de Análisis y Producción en Artes Visuales (A. Labaké/ Galeria Acéfala 2020) confirmed the multidisciplinary path she had chosen for her artworks, where in her installations: drawing, light, video, sculptures objects, painting and sound play a key role. Her works are about perception, connection of macro and micro universes, hypnotic optical illusions that arise from interactions between light and matter and the behavior of lines as infinite drifts.
In 2018 she was an art resident at BAI - Berlin Art Institute (Berlin, Germany; May through July/2018) where she consolidated all her recent experience.
She enhanced her drawing skills with the postgraduate drawing workshop delivered by Eduardo Stupía (Universidad Di Tella, 2019), which was a point of no return for her artwork.
She was part of the Programa de Formación Proyecto Imaginario Latinoamérica 2020-21, where she developed and gained experience in the audiovisual arts. She was awarded a scholarship to complete the Residencia Epecuén (April 2022). She completed the Residencia Raíces (March 2023) and the Residencia Cruce de Artistas (São Paulo, Brazil/November 2023). She was selected for the 65th Salón de Artes Visuales Manuel Belgrano (2021, Museo Sívori, Buenos Aires) and the 53rd Salón de Artes Visuales Fernán Félix de Amador “El Félix” (2023, Quinta Trabucco, Buenos Aires). She won the TWO-DIMENSIONAL ARTWORK AWARD at the 51st Salón de Artes Visuales MUMBAT (2024, Tandil, pcia. Buenos Aires). She has exhibited in various art spaces in Buenos Aires, Mexico, Italy, and Germany.
