OFFERING - PORTAL

Installation consisting of 1 photograph and a video projected on an iPad device mounted on the wall.
Artwork created during the Epecuén Residency.

“My roots just went much deeper into the ground, so now my branches can reach higher.”

“Ofrenda-Portal” is an installation composed of two medium-format photographs, each arranged in a single line, alongside a video projected on an iPad device on the wall. The narrative takes place in the Bosque Blanco of Lake Epecuén, created during an art residency. It represents an offering that fuses nature, art, and the artist's ancestral memory. It is a seed-like object suspended in the air among the trees. Through video art projected onto the piece, an energetic connection is created, like the opening of a portal to other dimensions. This offering is a tribute to my ancestors and speaks to the importance of preserving memory and honoring our roots. It is also a call to protect and preserve nature, awaken our sensitivity to the essential, and keep alive the legacy of those who came before us.

Joint Action: Self-managed spaces and artists from Buenos Aires

Collective exhibition EMILIO PETTORUTI MUSEUM – La Plata

The spaces brought together for this exhibition are part of JUNTA, a Buenos Aires-based network of contemporary art spaces that extends beyond the spaces presented here. For many years, each project has worked independently in the region, specifically in our cities, addressing the cultural diversity of the province of Buenos Aires.

During the pandemic, faced with the same challenges, we came together to coordinate our efforts and share experiences. In this way, we found a new way to showcase our spaces, to showcase the work of the artists we represent, the work we have done, and the trajectory that defines us, articulating and building bridges based on each particularity. The exhibition we are bringing to the capital city, a place that presents itself as a symbol and genuine setting for the people of Buenos Aires, seeks to represent a large part of the territorial reality with regard to the visual arts and reflects the conviction we have in cultural management, which actively supports and empowers us.
